As a child growing up in Romania Emil Paun spent days with his Dad poring over his vast collection of art books, often painting Turner-inspired canvases at the same time. Although he inherited a love of drawing from his Dad, he went on to pursue a career in linguistics, but spent most of his time at university penning illustrations, rather than taking notes. He was quickly drawn into the design world, where he took every opportunity to incorporate drawing into his work – creating everything from icons and infographics to characters and monsters. His illustrations are bold and colourful, with a touch of humour, and usually start life as sketches on paper before being recreated digitally.
